Today I learned that when purchasing generic products, read the labels very, VERY carefully!
Which one is the generic Pledge furniture polish, and which one is the generic PAM cooking spray? No wonder the quiche I baked last night made me sick!!!
Journalism, as the Fourth Estate, is the bedrock of a democracy. While not an official branch of government like the executive, legislative or judicial branches, journalism was important enough to the framers of our constitution to remember it and include protections for journalists in the very 1st Amendment of that great document.
Without good journalism and protections for the craft, there is no democracy. I'm here to discuss the good, bad and ugly in the profession, particularly as it pertains to a digital age, along with threats to journalism that originate both externally and internally.
About me: I'm a PR lady, former journalist, adjunct communications professor, embracer of the 1st amendment, but purist when it comes to legitimate news sourcing. I heart facts and employ a strict "no crazy blog" rule.
